​Lyn Gianni

 

     I have been working as a professional artist in Santa Barbara for many years, but I was born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and the tropical influence I grew up with often shows through in my work. 

​

     I paint almost exclusively with acrylic on canvas or board.  Subject matter varies, but each painting is a celebration of nature in some form, even when only in the abstract, and an attempt to create a feeling of calm and harmony, a small oasis in the chaos that seems to dominate the world of today.

​

     My technique involves multiple layers of semi-transparent color, sometimes with sanding in between, which gives softness and depth to the work.
